Needy Family Distribution Program:
Commonly
referred to as the Commodity Program and the distributor of USDA
donated food which help recipients maintain nutritionally balanced meals
and help stretch food dollars. reply now
The primary goal of LIHEAP
is to assist low-income households in meeting the burden of high home
heating and cooling expenses by making payment to energy companies on
behalf of eligible households. Assistance can be given once a year per
family.
Emergency Food Assistance Program:
Food vouchers are issued to recipients to assist with food needs.
Emergency Rent Assistance:
Rental payments
are made directly to landlords to assist recipient with their emergency
shelter needs not to exceed three hundred dollars ($300) per household.
Emergency Fire Assistance:
Recipients will
be lodged in local motel for 3 days, meals will be provided through
motel restaurant not to exceed three hundred dollars ($300) per
household. Recipient households applying for emergency assistance must
show an increase in expenses or a reduction in income. The increase in
expenses or reduction in income must be for conditions beyond the
applicants control.
Medicaid Application Assistance:
Assistance is provided to individuals who need help filling out medicaid applications.
Funding source for these programs through the Community Service Block Grant (CSBG).

Weatherization Program
The
primary role of the weatherization program is to improve the comfort
level and reduce energy costs of low-income families through making
minor repairs to the home by reducing air infiltration and heat loss.
Section 8 Rental Assistance Program
The
Section 8 rental assistance program is designed to give assistance to
very low income families, providing them the opportunity to live in
decent, safe and sanitary housing at an affordable cost. Participants
pay a percentage of their adjusted monthly income towards the rent, and
the program pays the balance to the property owner.
